Help answer the question about health insurance companies
How come health insurance companies are allowed to discriminate against people with disabilities?
How is it legal for health insurance companies to discriminate against people with disabilities (I mean, medical disabilities), but other companies are not allowed to, like grocery stores are not allowed to? Or maybe it IS legal for other businesses to discriminate against people I am really just curious, that's all. About the legal process. Health insurance companies kind of make me mad, because of this issue. I know I am expressing a political opinion, but I ask you not to troll. If you have a different opinnion thatn me, you can argue for it, but please don't start trollin.'

Well, if she's 40 and perfectly healthy, it's going to cost her about $500 a month to have a low/no deductible plan that covers checkups.
You BUY it on a month to month basis. If you want low monthly payments, you have to cut the coverage – like take a $10,000 deductible. Or higher. That would cut payments down to maybe $200 a month or less.
The older she is, the less healthy she is, the more it costs.
Your best bet, is to find a local, independent agent, who can help you balance cost with coverage.
Republicans are for Big Business.
They aren't against the people, they just think that if you give the Big Businesses all the breaks and benefits, they will in turn help out their employees.
But the goal of Big Business is not people, it's profits and finding ways to increase profits.
They would definitely shrink, but they would still be around. Look at Medicare, they have supplement polices which the individual has to pay. If you think the government is going to pay for Heart surgery, Cancer treatment, you're in for a rude awakening.
Well it is sad when people are denied coverage. Health insurance companies can not drop coverage due to health. As long as premiums are paid their health coverage will stay in force. Now for preexisting conditions they can sometimes deny coverage for a period of time, usually 6 months from the first day that coverage was in force. Now if you are already sick your not going to be able to get coverage. That would be like writing a Life insurance policy on someone that is already dead.
But if the health reform gets passed he would have probably been denied care as well. That is how it is in the other countries that have government ran health care.
Politics; Interesting.

Obama getting ready to stick a big one right up the asses of the insurance companies….PRICELESS.

i’m glad that I voted for you ralph.

I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2005. I started out at 268, now I’m 180 and holding. These links will help you in many ways to make a decision if this is for you or not. I vote yes, because it made such a difference in my life. I was taking 8 pills a day, and after my surgery, I lost my diabetes. The way they do the surgery, takes your diabetes away. I no longer have to take glucophage, and I no longer have high Cholesterol or high blood pressure. I’m down to 2 pills a day. I went from a size 26-28 to a 16-18.

I really researched my surgeon, and I made a wise choice. Always get a surgeon that has done at least 200 of these surgeries. Get someone with a lot of experience, and you will do well.
Here’s all about my surgeon…

You just can’t find a better surgeon than him! He’s probably done at least 500 of the surgeries, so far. I did so well after my surgery, I thank him every time I see him.
I made it to 175! It's been almost 2 years since my surgery. I haven't had any complications at all with my surgery! My health has been very good, and I've lost the weight nice and slow, so my body doesn't look that much out of shape. I've been faithfully taking my vitamins, and my blood work came back excellent! I still think very highly of Dr. Pilkington, and would recommend to anyone thinking of this surgery, to have Dr. Pilkington as his or her surgeon. I'm walking proof, that he is an excellent doctor. I just spoke to another patient of his who told me she had a very good experience with him, and she is in excellent health, as well. He is a very caring doctor. I live in Florida in the winter. I see alot of folks down there because of my job, and I see people from all over the USA and overseas. Since my surgery, I've talked to lots of others that have had the surgery in Florida, and some of them didn't do as well, and I tend to think it's because their doctors weren’t as competent as mine. I feel that part of how you do, is because of your general health and attitude. The other major part is how good your doctor is.

Heath insurance is a business first – thier buiness only prospers when they make lots of money. Insurance companies only make money by taking in more money they dole out, which makes it good business for them to deny claims.
I have a question….why can we not pay insurance coverage under a government program that is cheaper to begin with and all be covered, no gaps and no denial for previous medical issues? My point is I am willing to pay for insurance as long as I am covered, I hate that bull copay and on top of it only covers 80% so…I think the Government can help its people…why not this way?
You need to call thelm, and apply to each one of them to be an "in network" contracted provider. It's GOING to take hours. You can't hire one company, as each agreement with each health insurer is UNIQUE. You will get paid seperate rates.
There are no companies that provide this type of service, to the best of my knowledge, because effectively, you're looking at a contract between YOUR business, and an insurance company – a third party contract wouldn't be BINDING.
This is exactly why a provider isn't "in network" with ALL insurance companies in the state.
Because they plan to deny coverage when the first claim is made.
God bless you Ralph!
Rock star! The only one who’s talking it straight — again!
You’ve only just begun to help the nation. Keep the faith, brother.
1) It depends on where you live.
2) No the premium does not apply to the deductible, neither do copays.
3) Very rarely. Why would you want to?
4) Yes. Preexisting conditions.

wow, you took the words of my mouth….that is exactly what is going on, one thing that we all need to see is that “Insurance Companies” are a business, they look out after their money not the people paying into it or the sick for that matter
Insurance is the problem, they are middle-men who add no value to your Health Care. There are great savings to be had if we concentrate on providing health care, and spend less money on the paper-shufflers.
I am worked for Obama but I gave Nader money because he needs to keep talking. He speaks the truth as only someone who does not expect to be elected can. He worked in Washington for years and knows exactly how it works.
Nader is the real deal. An honorable man. Watch “An Unreasonable Man” and you too will be a Nader fan.
Well it is not that people working in dental insurance
companies are any different than the people working
in health insurance or life insurance or car insurance
companies. It is just that the dental insurance per se
does not make much business sense these days, so it needs
to be augmented with exclusion clauses in the policy,
with waiting periods, and annual limits. This annoys
the dentists and the consumers as the question
illustrates. There are more sensible
alternatives to dental insurance that make more business
sense and are basically based on negotiating or
pre-negotiating lower costs for the participants.
@tazru333
hear ya on that. All we got to do it boycott the insurance co. No gov. even needed on that one.
She should visit a local independent agent. The agent works with most of the plans available in her area and can work with her to find the best plan for her situation and budget. The plans and premiums are exactly the same whether she uses the agent of buys directly from the company. Also, if she has pre-existing conditions or is out of the height and weight guidelines she might get declined. The agent can help find a company that will accept her.
Insurance companies have about 30% overhead vs 4% for medicare…..that means medicare has more of its funding actually getting to where it needs to go, while the private insurance siphons more money to investors and CEOs for private jets. The difference is greater than 1/4 of their total income from insurance fees.
However, tackling the insurance companies without following up with the crooks at the drug companies will ultimately be insufficient. No other nation on earth pays more for the same drugs we buy and every other country pays less….we cant have that if we want affordable healthcare.
Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I live in North Carolina I'm not familiar with the Texas laws and regulations, so I recommend you call a nearby health insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Health-Insurance.html They will be able to assist you.
Visit a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best policy for your situation and budget. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with any one plan. There is no extra charge using an agent.
Do not try to do this over the internet and do not click any of the links that have been provided. That is a good way to get scammed, or your name will be sold to numerous people who will bother you with phone calls.
